CAFE GETAWAY
THE MOBILE ESPRESSO TRUCK

As the food truck industry explodes onto Florida's culinary scene, Cafe Getaway, a totally self-contained, full-service mobile espresso bar based out of Tarpon Springs, has already carved itself a flexible niche in the Tampa Bay area, particularly in North Pinellas.

Whatever the event, as long as we can drive in, Cafe Getaway can bring to you our hot, iced or ice-blended specialties: from gourmet coffees, teas or hot chocolate; traditional espresso, cappuccinos, lattes and rich mochas; refreshing fruit smoothies; creamy frappes; real Hawaiian shaved ice, plus a new selection of health-conscious "green" meal replacement choices. There is something for everyone at Cafe Getaway. Yum!

ABOUT TIFFANY:

After several years following her wanderlust father (see below) to the Virgin Islands, and several more years in southern California, Tiffany and her husband Derek chose to return to Clearwater (where Tiffany spent her high-school years), to settle down and raise a family. When her son started school, Tiffany was itching to get back out and make her mark.

Café Getaway has proved to be the perfect vehicle for her. Her years in the restaurant business in St. Thomas and in Santa Monica, CA stand her in good stead as she provides a very personalized service to a growing crowd of devoted customers. Tiffany is particularly proud of our developing line of "green smoothies" (none of which actually come out green, but which are full of healthful superfoods.)

ABOUT DON & GWEN:

Café Getaway is a family owned and operated business. Daughter Tiffany runs the weekday mobile route (Text to 727-366-9365), while Don and Gwen handle most of the weekend and nighttime commitments (727-366-5261.)

From 1991-1998, Don and Gwen had one of the world's most perfect jobs. They ran a charter business taking people on week-long sailing and scuba diving vacations in the Virgin Islands. Every week they met new people from all over the country, even the world, and guided them around the VI's very beautiful reefs and islands. Food was a big part of it! The great meals may be what their guests remember most! As sailors, they had long dreamed of going cruising in the South Pacific. In 1999, a friend's illness gave them a wake-up call.

"Don't wait" was the message, so on the eve of the millennium they made their personal "getaway" and sailed west over the horizon. Ten years took them through the Caribbean, along Central America from Ecuador and the Galapagos north to Mexico, and right across the Pacific through Oceania's famous isles all the way to Australia, where, in fact, they got their inspiration for a mobile cafˇ and trained as baristas! In 2009, they returned to the US and settled in Tarpon Springs to be near Tiffany and family, launching Café Getaway Mobile Espresso at the same time.

ABOUT OUR TRUCK

Our Café Getaway mobile espresso truck was custom built for us by Seattle Coffee Trucks of Camarillo, California.

It is constructed on a one-ton Chevy chassis, and features a handsome interior stuffed with state-of-the-art equipment like our Italian-built Brasilia commercial espresso machine, two commercial grade coffee grinders, a digital Airpot coffee brewer, two Blendtec blenders, and our Hawaiian Ice Shaved Ice machine.

The exterior of the truck is wrapped in attractive artwork compatible with virtually any event theme, and although it can be connected to external power and water when available, the truck is completely self-contained with its own fresh water and gray water tanks, solar panels and quiet generator.
